BEJAZZLED
Tim New and Don Lodge formed Bejazzled after playing together at various jazz events at the start of the 90's. The trio steadily built a reputation for playing a wide variety of mainstream jazz tunes from the 20's to the present day - from Fats Waller to Tchaikovsky to Jobim to Gershwin. Don Lodge's acoustic guitar playing, strongly derivative of Django, forms the character of the ensemble, leaving Tim New the melodic space to fill as one of only a few Jazz flautists. Doubling on soprano and tenor saxes adds extra tonal variety. Ed Jackson took the bass place in 2000, having stood in over the years. The bulk of the trio's work is for private and corporate functions, but they have a regular fortnightly spot at The Old White Swan in York, where they are joined by jazz guitarist Mike Riley - veteran of the ATV showband and The Sid Lawrence Orchestra.

GREEN MAC
Dusty Miller - Dusty is the band's leader and virtuso lead guitarist with the knack of being able to sound uncannily like other top guitar players, such as his mentors Hendrix and Peter Green. But he is no copyist and has his own distinctive and very musical style that has been amazing audiences around the country since the sixties. Dusty has supported Peter Green and the Splinter Group 3 times. All to rave reviews and even recieved commendations from the man himself. He contributed to Peter Greens offical biography written by Jet Martin Celmins. Hailing from Doncaster but now living and working in Leeds. Dusty has his own guitar shop so he is never far away from his beloved instrument! Dusty says " This band is just getting better and better - all the lads are great to work with and we are aiming high on the blues circuit to keep the music of Peter Green and other blues artists alive."
Steve Harrop - Steve is a multi -faceted musician and teacher, playing over a dozen instruments, and been a professional pedal steel guitarist for over ten years. With more than 45 years experience, he can play everything from late 19th century parlour music through to country, modern, Rock and Jazz. However, Steve’s first love is the Blues, discovering Buddy Guys on AFN in the early sixties. Steve has played with many other bands over the years-too many to list! He says "playing with Green Mac is great fun, Dusty and i were playing this material 40 years ago, So I’m going back to my roots"
Trevor Birkinshaw - Trevor received his first guitar for his 11th birthday and has just celebrated over forty years experience playing in bands. His early influences in the 60's were The Shadows, Beatles and Stones who inspired him to start his first band playing lead guitar and vocals. Over the years he has supported Free, Manfred Mann, Yes and Chicken Shack amongst others too numerous to mention. As a keen admirer of the skills of John McVie, Andy Fraser and Jack Bruce - and with a weakness for Fender basses, Trevor relished the idea of converting to 4 strings to be able to join Greenmac. For Trevor this is going back to his roots of the music he enjoyed listening to and playing in the 60's and 70's.
Peter Tallent - On drums is one of the founder members, Peter Tallent, laying down the beat and shuffling like only Mick Fleetwood can to keep the band driving along. Peter’s varied musical career has seen him playing with a variety of blues and rock bands over the years and has helped run various jam nights at local venues in the Yorkshire area. Peter says, "It’s a really exciting band to play in - the best thing is that we touch the blues of the original grass roots players such as BB King and Buddy Guy etc. We also push the blues boundaries by playing some of the blues rock improvisation that Peter Greens Fleetwood Mac became really famous for ".

COPOWT
CopOwt have become one of the most popular covers bands on the York circuit playing classic songs from bands like the Undertones, Buzzcocks, Sex Pistols and more recent Brit Pop stuff like Oasis, Kaiser Chiefs, Snow Patrol and The Enemy. The members of CopOwt are: Russ (singer), the new boy and youngster of the band! Paul (guitar) and widely regarded as the best guitarist in his street and bears no resemblance in any way to Slash. His day job as a teacher gives Paul plenty of time and holidays to keep the web site up to date. Alan (guitar and vocals), Copmanthorpe through and through and coming from York he obviously supports Man Utd! Alan is a hardcore punk at heart, not one for fancy chords and lyrics, nothing Alan likes more than giving stiff little fingers to the crowd. Seon (bass guitar) Born in the Granada viewing area of Manchester and not the West Indian spice island of Grenada, which is what he claims! Seon was brought up as a Chelsea supporting cockney, Seon is a sporting legend (or leg-end) with a great natural ability in a number of sports including golf, cricket and conkers. Paul "Animal" (drums). Paul is almost single-handedly responsible for the entire supermarket onion bhaji production in the UK. If you've eaten a supermarket onion bhaji, Paul probably made it! He's quite partial to a vodka and red bull too!

DUFFLEGOAT
Brilliant hard rockin’ three-piece who have supported classic rock tribute band Limehouse Lizzy (Thin Lizzy Tribute) The Snakes (including original members of Whitesnake; Micky Moodie and Bernie Marsden) and By Jovi (Bon Jovi Tribute). They play a set list including original songs and covers by Led Zeppelin, Cream, Hendrix, Queens of the Stone Age, Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam, Sabbath, and loads more for well over two hours. They are experienced and skilled musicians and have played over 350 gigs all over the country. They have a developed a strong fan base and have now released a second CD of their own material, ‘The Ring of Three’. They will rock you. This is what people say…. "DUFFLEGOAT showed that they were no kidders when it came to impressive guitar work. The band proved that they had their feet attached firmly to the ground by crowning their opening performance with a version of Queen's ‘Tie Your Mother Down’. The band set a daunting precedent for those who were to follow." Yorkshire Evening Press. - "York based rock outfit Dufflegoat gave one of the best night's entertainment seen at the venue for some time. Their set lasted in excess of 2.5 hours, with every number tight, sharp and exciting. There is only one word to sum up their skill as musicians -impeccable!!!" Goole Times and Chronicle - "If you like seeing LIVE music with musicians having a good time and giving it some real stick, then Dufflegoat are the band to watch" PV Gig Guide, Scarborough - "It's horrible walking into a venue only to catch the last few songs by a truly remarkable band and that’s precisely what happened to me. I was surprised to note that Dufflegoat were a three piece band fronted by a geezer in a dress… The guitarist was an absolute wizard as he scaled the fretboard faster than the speed of light….it’s a shame I didn't arrive earlier…." Live revue in Indie World - “The Drummer resembles "Animal" from the muppets, The Guitarist is a living "Wizard" and the Bass player/Lead singer wears a frock! They are definately Dufflegoats and certainly no Anoraks with a repertoire of some Rock Classic covers and introducing more and more of their own compositions they are well worth a listen, not to mention the lively stage appearance! ”Venue-Lincs Magazine - “You guys are so scary my make-up fell off” Unidentified bike chick

GLASS
In early 2008 GLASS singer/guitarist Alexander King inherited the contents of a storage unit, in which was a suitcase of letters, news clippings and journals relating to Anthony Philip Glass, a 19th Century inventor and showman. Anthony Glass had a colourful life, purporting to have invented a machine that transmits sound through time which he toured the world demonstrating. His life story - pieced together in a gripping blog updated by Alexander is peppered with murder, intrigue and a stay in York's own Bootham Park Hospital (then York County Lunatic Asylum).
Inspired by the man himself, the band GLASS was formed, and present their debut album with a launch show at The Duchess in York on Saturday the 16th of January. Compared to Roxy Music, Wire, Editors, Magazine, The Cult, Interpol and The Cure among others GLASS deal in stark, powerful rock with surrealist lyrics and a highly theatrical live show.
Support on the night comes from two of York's finest indie-rock acts – Dorien Starre and The Blueprints.
About GLASS
Formed in early 2008 GLASS represent the best of the classic post-punk and new-wave acts while tapping into the current vogue of dark rock (Editors, White Lies, Interpol etc). The band consists of Alexander King (vocals and guitar), Andy Curry (vocals and synths), Jim Stafford (bass) and Dan Whiting (drums). GLASS have already shared a stage with up and coming national acts like Ipso Facto, Cinematics, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart and Victorian English Gentlemen's Club.

THE YABBAS
The Yabbas are a 4 piece indie/rock covers band from Whitby, North Yorkshire, and play a selection of songs such as The Killers, Kings of Leon, The Enemy, Stereophonics, Oasis, Green Day, The Clash and many more. They are available for all occasions anywhere in the UK, and offer different packages to suit your needs. They have been described by people who have hired them as the ultimate party band. BAND HISTORY (By The Yabbas) - In early 2007, from the ashes of various other band, James, Beef, Mart and Dave got together to form YabbaDabbaDoo. The 4 lads locked themselves inside a small dark room and did nothing but rehearse, then 10 months later they re-appeared as “The Yabba’s.” Their first gig was at 2007’s Whitby Now. Any band from Whitby and beyond want to play at this annual event, and The Yabba’s were lucky enough to be added to the bill. Jean Scales from the Whitby Now committee said, "My first impressions of Yabbadabbadoo was what a ridiculously long name it was for an organiser to deal with so I immediately shortened it to The Yabba's in my notes and in my head. (They came around to my way of thinking eventually.)My second impression was - boy, this band is your ultimate good time,"let's all have a party" band. Within a few bars of their opening number the dance floor was full and you could actually feel the vibrations as everyone jumped and danced along. My third impression was how friendly and obliging each and every one of them were. None of your rude egotistical posturing from them - if they could help us out as, organisers we just had to ask. Which was exceedingly nice and exceedingly rare." Since that night the band have gone from strength to strength and have quickly become one of the most popular bands to come out of Whitby in a long time. Starting as just another pub band, they have grown in confidence and grown as a band and have moved into the private/corporate scene over the past 6 months. That’s not to say they don’t know where their routes lie and still enjoy playing pubs. During the December of 2008, Dave got a new job working on the oil rigs, meaning he was only available for gigs every 2 weeks. Not wanting to get rid of Dave, the remaining 3 set about finding a new drummer who was willing to play every 2 weeks. After a week long X-Factor style audition progress there was a clear winner...step forward Mr Simon Jay! Si fit perfectly into the band. Same vision, same humour, same love of playing music live, plus he was also keen to try new things. Take songs and change them, even work on original material. 2009 has been amazing year so far for the band. The highlight was most definitely their set at a private event in York for a local millionaire. There were a total of 8 bands/acts on, and The Yabba's took the day by storm. All in all, 2009 and been a great year for the lads, and there is more to come. 2010 is set to be even bigger and better for them!!

Craig Richardson: Vocals and Lyrics, Greame Hughes: Lead / Rhythm guitar, Col Howard: Bass (Live) John McEvoy: Drums (live), Kev Robinson: Guitar (live) Producer: Kinyobi (Chris I Styles) [Recordings and Live.] and Arranger: Kinyobi. Top Producer and Engineer Steve Whitfield, who has worked with bands such as 'The Cure' "Terrorvision' 'Shed 7? and 'Sasha' to name just a few, recently got in touch with March of the Defiants after hearing their demo track 'The Sign' on one of the BBC Introducing shows and offered to mix it for them. The result has been released on Itunes, Amazon, Beatport and many other stores out now! Recent airplay includes - 'The Sign' (demo) - BBC Radio Leeds (More Raw show) - Nov 2009, 'Drift Ective' - BBC Radio York (Matt Seymour's Show) - Nov 2009 and 'A Generation' - BBC Radio York (Matt Seymour's Show) - Nov 2009. - Review by Elana, PoppedMusic.co.uk - " With their quest to mix rock and electro March Of The Defiants certainly manage to do this with their debut release The Sign. Think along the lines of Pendulum, strong vocals and strong music, although not so much a drum and bass mix but a more an electro feel. When I first listened to it I was reminded of The Music, but upon reflection I actually think March Of The Defiants are a little heavier on the rock side and certainly the vocals are different. If they're any good live then they really ought to get out there and show it. This track also has great potential for some really big club re-mixes, which would just take them to an even wider audience. The Sign is a fantastic introduction to the potential of March Of The Defiants and if you'll excuse the pun, possibly a sign of things to come."

Soul Rebels
Soul Rebels - a band born of vastly experienced musicians who have served their apprenticeships and graduated with flying colours. A solid outfit who enjoy bringing the "soul sound" back to its former glory playing the old classics plus a few others, many bands seldom attempt.
ALAN ROSE - BASS & VOCALS - After a very successful stint in local bands The Blue Caps, The Zephron's and Blue Velvet, Alan went on to play in the backing band of Alvin Stardust before turning professional in the seventies. After supporting celebs like Des O'Conner and Bruce Forsythe Alan joined Freddie and the Dreamers hitting the bigger circuit. A smooth bass player with a unique style that fits perfect with the soul stuff. Along with long time buddy Kay Dee (back together after nearly 30 years) they form the backbone of Soul Rebels and run a tight outfit. Alan thoroughly enjoys being back in the north east playing with old and new friends.
DAVE WILLIAMSON - SAX - A much travelled sax player with a very illustrious past who has played alongside David Coverdale and auditioned with non other than the soul hero himself, Geno Washington. A true product of the 60s era whereby if you could read it was a bonus with the extra ability to play by ear and without script was a true talent. Years of playing the Redcar Jazz Club and filling the solos behind the Soul Rebels brass line make Dave's contribution special. Dave is probably the most integral part of the outfit who recently rekindled his relationship with Ezza Robinson who played together back in the Government days some mere years ago.
ANDY POWER - GUITAR & VOCALS - Andy Power is a professional guitarist who has been on tour with many artists/bands throughout the world. Teaming up with an impressive array of people over the years including the one and only Stevie Wonder, Andy has not limited himself to any one style. Present work includes composing for TV commercials and theme tunes plus radio jingles. Andy has recently been working with various DJs on remixes and original material. Andy's strong lead playing has given Soul Rebels that special soul sound we require. Andy your a great guy and a pleasure to work with - Alan R
KAY DEE- SINGER - Playing nightclubs whilst still at school (along with many other things), Kay started an early and difficult apprenticeship with various local bands before moving onto the rock circuit. Kay has had a lot of success over the years and was the strong voice behind the intro to Radio 1's rock show with Tommy Vance. Recording deals followed and quoted by Ozzy Osborne "to have one of the most energetic voices I have heard in a long time". Kay has played in soul bands previously and is the inspiration behind the majority of numbers played by Soul Rebels. Kay's wit and disciplined approach keeps the brass section and the rest of us wondering what's coming next!
ALAN PEACOCK - SAX - Alan is a bit of a late starter compared to the rest of the band however, he takes on all responsibilities for writing and putting down all the brass tracks for the band. Even with a few jibes from the rest of us he always delivers on time. "Alan is an inspiration and pleasure to work with" says Kay and he always wants more; they should have called him Oliver! Alan works the brass hard through rehearsals and performances and is a well respected member of Soul Rebels.
ANDY ROSE - DRUMS & VOCALS - Andy, despite his young appearance has played for several years before returning to the local circuit. Andy is a first class all round musician and one of the final pieces in Soul Rebels. Andy's "opinion" is always welcome along with his late arrival.
NICKY PORRITT - TRUMPET & SAX - The one and only lady of the band playing both trumpet and alto sax, Nicky is the tops when it comes to adding the final touches to Soul Rebels. A relative newcomer to the band scene but not to music itself. Nicky has played in big bands for many years now and plays the cornet with a classical outfit (no wonder her lips get sore)! Nicky is definitely one of Soul Rebels best assets and their shining star.
