THE LOVELY EGGS
"You won’t hear another band like this anywhere between now and the end of the millennium. The Lovely Eggs are just brilliant!’ (Huw Stephens, Radio One).
And we agree; their last show here was riotous, irreverent, raunchy, rockin' and a right good laugh!!
The Lovely Eggs aka David Ross and Holly Blackwell (ex-Angelica – remember them?) can count Huw Stephens, Marc Riley, Rob Da Bank, Steve Lamacq, Tom Robinson and Jon Kennedy amongst the fans of their lo-fi, shouty, grungy pop referencing the brilliant simplicity of Jonathan Richman and the girly “**** YOU!” of Bikini Kill.
They’ve played their songs around the world from scrapyards in LA to beaches in Bournemouth; SXSW gigs to sessions on Radio 1 and 6Music; and toured with The Slits and Shonen Knife.
We can't recommend this anarchic twosome enough!

OZRIC TENTACLES
Meeting at a Stonehenge campfire in ’83 and conjuring a name from hypothetical cereal brands, welcome back inna jazz-cigarette stylee the magical psychedelical space rockers and proto-hippy Somerset instrumental band we all love as Ozric Tentacles.
Million sellers worldwide despite never having major label backing and still with original member Ed Wynne, last spotted at Fibbs in 2000 (and selling out twice), the Ozrics magic continues from first release 1989’s Pungent Effulgent (which Fibbers longtimers will remember on permanent juke box rotation).
By 1992 The Ozrics were the soundtrack to the summer. Travellers were suddenly trendy and free festivals were attracting tens of thousands of people. Live performances became something of folklore with sessions lasting for hours and tape trade amongst fans has reached the feverish dedication rivalling USA Dead-heads with, of course, similar rules of free trade and no profit.
With the band's 1993 release "Jurassic Shift," which debuted at #11 on the British indie chart and climbed into the Top 10 in the National Album Charts, the Ozrics eventually won over the adulation of mainstream press, and found themselves heralded in publications such as NME and Melody Maker. It was, and still is, an astonishing accomplishment for a band with no celebrity status, and no major record label backing.
Over the years Ozrics have toured extensively both at home and abroad, performing regularly throughout Europe, Asia, North America, and South America. Ed’s influences are rooted in ethnic scales and the native music of many continents, rather than from any particular artist and this is continually illustrated in the twists and turns of each piece and the varying sounds used in their construction.
As the Ozrics continue to create genre-free music with no boundaries in sight, it means that their aim and goals are enthusiastically raised as they strive to take each track to a new level, and each album must grow substantially for the band to be satisfied.
Post-1994, along with the release of “Arborescence”, the music press had realized that the Ozrics were never here for chart success, nor to be the latest fad, rather to simply have the opportunity to explore their music with an almost obsessive zeal by wringing the most bizarre and unlikely sounds from whatever instrument they happened to be playing, …and long may they continue to do so!

Focus
With their unique progressive rock Focus manifested themselves at the start of the seventies as the most successful and the most appreciated of all the Dutch pop-rock exports.
The band were fronted by the much admired duo of Thijs van Leer on the Hammond organ/flute and Jan Akkerman on the guitar. Their hit potential came in the form of a couple of instrumentals, "Hocus Pocus", "House of the King", and "Sylvia", but we shouldn't forget their timeless albums "Moving Waves", "Focus 3" and "Hamburger Concerto". But like all good things, it couldn't last and internal wrangling ended this legendary group.
After an initial careful comeback which resulted in a well received album "Focus 8", the band are now back on the frontline, with a fantastic line-up! Of course the founder member and musical genius Thijs van Leer is still holding the fort. Also back in his old spot is Pierre van der Linden, the drummer who is internationally renowned for his rhythmic skills, and who was and still is a defining factor in the whole Focus sound. Together with Bobby Jacobs who stems from a well acclaimed Dutch musical family, they are responsible for the rhythm section and that unmistakable Focus groove. The talented Niels van der Steenhoven, who without any shadow of a doubt can hit the mark when it comes to the guitar completes the band's line-up.
A new Focus era has arrived. There is a rejuvenated passion in the new compositions, that adorn the new album "Focus 9 / New Skin", which has been released on the famous Red Bullet label of Willem van Kooten. This album -and the following gigs- will surprise the loyal fans. They will hear once again all the classic Focus tunes and they will be surprised at the strength and depth of the new material. "Our music is evolution, not revolution", Thijs van Leer once said about the music of Focus. Well now, the evolution is at full pace.
Thijs van Leer - Hammond-orgel, flute and vocals
Niels van der Steenhoven - guitar
Bobby Jacobs - bass
Pierre van der Linden - drums
